what does the schedule look like?

Weeks one to four are dedicated to the core requirements of the course. Your time will be split between theory sessions and workshops, designed to give you all the background knowledge expected of a PADI Divemaster, and practical in-water sessions. Practical sessions will range from assisting instructors on a variety of PADI courses from open water to rescue, learning how to safely guide certified divers in a variety of dive sites and conditions, fine tuning your important rescue skills, conducting your own dive site mapping project, practicing demonstrating the 24 basic scuba skills, and participating in deep dive and search and recovery workshops. We’ll also assess your swimming skills and if there’s time, of course throw in a fun dive or 2! During this part of the training you can expect to log around 30-50 dives and spend 5-6 days a week in the water. You will become part of our team, and learn all aspects of working as a PADI divemaster.

"Scuba Junkie runs a tight ship for DMC’s. It’s a demanding course and both of our instructors expected much higher than baseline standards of us; but similarly, that made us want to rise to that standard. The outfit at Scuba Junkie is a great balance of fun and professional. People joke and party, but there’s no question that safety and professionalism is paramount."
