As you may already know, all accommodations on Sipadan island were closed down on December 31, 2004. That means that Semporna, where Scuba Junkie is located, is now the gateway to diving at both Sipadan and all the islands in the area. Located across the street from our dive shop, the Scuba Junkie Backpacker offers clean, comfortable, and affordable rooms. Just meters from the waterfront in Semporna, our accommodations are less than a 20 meter walk from the dock we depart from for diving each morning meaning you get extra time to sleep-in. The backpacker has a wide range of rooms to accommodate all budgets, from dorm rooms to VIP suites. All of our rooms include daily room service, satellite television, free internet access, and complimentary english breakfast consisting of eggs, hashbrowns, beans, toast, coffe, tea, and fresh juice.

We know that travelers in Borneo appreciate some of the comforts from home and we strive to provide them at the best rate possible. To that end, we offer a 50% discount on room rates to people who both dive and stay with us.

Longhouse Stay on Mabul
If you'd like to stay on Mabul island while you are here, Scuba Junkie can help arrange a longhouse stay for you. Accomodations simple but very clean and comfortable. Rates start at RM50 per person, which includes all your meals. If you are diving with us, we can drop you off on Mabul after a day of diving. If you're not diving, we can arrange to shuttle you to the island for small fee. Talk to us when you get here.
Don't Forget To Come By The Scuba Junkie Bar At Night For Cold Beers, Hot Food, And Good Company
The Scuba Junkie bar is the place most of our guests (and other visitors to Semporna) hang out at night to discuss the day's diving over cold beer and tasty food. Located right next door to our Backpacker, the bar opens everyday at 4PM and closes when the last person has gone home. In addition to the cold beers and rafflesia (local alchohol), we serve an array of hot, delicious dishes. If you're looking for western food you can't do much better than our homemade pizza. We make the dough fresh daily and load every pizza with only the freshest local ingredients. If you want to try some local flavor, give our chicken curry a try served with steamed rice or chips.
